Welcome to Rye Junior High School. Serving Grades 5-8, RJH has 170 students and 25 part or full time faculty members. Don’t let the name fool you, we are a middle school in practice. It is a school designed to meet the developmental needs of students from the ages of 10 to 14.
Rye Junior High School is part of School Administrative Unit #50 located in the beautiful Town of Rye, in the southeastern corner of New Hampshire. Rye Citizens are proud of their heritage with the first settlement established in 1623. They are equally proud of their schools.
The Parent Teacher Association diligently supports school programs and recently received a distinguished honorable mention in PTO Magazine's annual "Parent Group of the Year." This recognition is very deserving. Citizens’ enthusiastic support for education resulted in the formation of the Rye Education Foundation, which maintains an endowment to assist educational endeavors that the regular budget cannot support and to provide funding for teaching proposals that have substantially enriched programs.
We consistently review, reflect and implement changes as needed in current programs. We actively pursue professional development activities that improve our knowledge and skills so that we can meet the different needs of our students. We recognize the uniqueness of our students and work hard to provide them with opportunities to reach their potential in a safe learning environment.
We welcome you to our school community!
