8th Grade Language Arts at Rye Junior High

In 8th grade Language Arts, students will engage in whole-class reading and writing study as well as independent choice activities.

Daily Routine:

When students enter class, they are expected to take their seat and fill out their agenda with the homework posted on the board. They will then participate in either a quickwrite and respond to a prompt or read from their free read choice book. They should come prepared every day with their chromebook, choice book, notebook, writing utensil, and binder/folder.

Google Classroom:

All assignments, including directions, grading rubrics, supplemental materials, and examples will be posted on Google Classroom.

PowerSchool

PowerSchool will be updated at least once a week to ensure accurate communication regarding grades or missing student work.
